Referring to the Indian concept of ‘Aditi Devo Bawa’ at a function at the Hotel Management Institute (IHM) in Goa, Mr. Naidu, our culture, our cuisine and the ways in which foreigners are welcomed in the country can help to attract more.

He underscored the importance of the travel and tourism industry as one of the largest job creators. The sector employed 87.5 lakh people, which is 12.75 per cent of the total employment in 2018-19.
The vice president said the region is most affected by the epidemic. He hoped that the reduction in foreign passenger traffic, job losses and the recession would be temporary and that there would be a boom in the hospitality sector.
He said Goa is a major global tourist destination. Apart from the scenic beauty of Goa, the exhibitions and festivals here excite tourists from the arts and architecture. Goa has a special place in the hearts of foreign and domestic tourists.
